Cody Bellinger and the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed on a one-year, $17 million to avoid arbitration before the Dec. 1 lockout that has shut down Major League Baseball and frozen transactions, sources familiar with the agreement told ESPN.

The deal was not announced after the lockout, as teams are not referencing players by name during the work stoppage that has lasted more than three weeks and will stretch into the new year. 

Justin Verlander's two-year, $50 million agreement with the Houston Astros has been given formal approval by Major League Baseball, industry sources told ESPN, even at a time when the owners have locked out the players in the ongoing labor battle.

The Washington Nationals have signed Dee Strange-Gordon to a Minor League deal, according to a report.

Minor League transactions are still permitted during the lockout.

Strange-Gordon didn't appear in a Major League game in 2021, which also made him eligible to sign a contract despite having logged more than eight years of Major League service time.

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a one-year deal with Rougned Odor.

The second baseman spent last season with the New York Yankees, hitting .202 with 15 home runs and 39 RBI in 102 games.

The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a four-year contract with Raisel Iglesias, according to a source.

The terms of the deal have yet to be reported.

The 31-year-old closer had turned down the qualifying offer from the Angels but now ends up back with the club.

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with James Paxton, according to sources.

The agreement includes a two-year club option.

Paxton, 33, is recovering from Tommy John surgery but should pitch in 2022.
